UNESCO World Heritage Sites Of Nepal

There are many places in Nepal for visiting and travelling but especially old and some famous places of Nepal have been identifying as the World Heritage Sites by UNESCO as belongs to the people of the world. Nepal has four properties identified by UNESCO as World Heritage Sites they are listed as two cultural and two natural sites.


1. Kathmandu Valley (Cultural)
2. Lumbini (Cultural)
3. Sagarmatha National Park (Natural)
4. Chitwan National Park (Natural)

2. Lumbini


Siddhartha Gautama, the Lord Buddha, was born in 623 B.C. in the famous gardens of  Lumbini, which soon became a place of pilgrimage. Among the pilgrims was the Indian emperor Ashoka, who erected one of his commemorative pillars there. The site is now being developed as a Buddhist pilgrimage centre. In 1997 this places is told as World Heritage Sites by UNESCO.


3. Sagarmatha National Park

Sagarmatha is an exceptional area with dramatic mountains, glaciers and deep valleys, dominated by Mount Everest, the highest peak in the world (8,848 m). Several rare species, such as the snow leopard and the lesser panda, are found in the park.Sagarmatha national park is named after the highest mountains Sagarmatha, which hight is 8848 meter from the sea level. So, it's also listed in World Heritage Sites by UNESCO.
